Dollars For Scholars
Through donations from Sunnyside District employees, businesses and private donors, the Alumni Association has awarded scholarships totaling $464,000 to 392 students in eight years. These graduates know they have the support of their community as they continue their education.
Special thanks to USA Funds for its donation in 2008 of $100,000 to the Sunnyside School District Alumni Association’s Dollars for Scholars program.
A través de las donaciones de los empleados del Distrito de Sunnyside, negociantes y donadores privados, la Asociación de Alumnos ha otorgado becas hasta un total de mas de $464,000 a 392 estudiantes en ocho años. Please encourage your students to apply for a scholarship through the Alumni Association’s Dollars for Scholars program. All students who meet the following criteria are eligible:
- Be a senior at Desert View, Sunnyside or S.T.A.R.,
- have at least a 2.5 GPA by the end of the fall semester of their senior year,
- plan to enroll full-time (12 units) at an accredited postsecondary institution (vocational/trade school, community college or university).
